Safelite AutoGlass®, the nation’s largest provider of vehicle glass repair and replacement services, recently opened a new store located at 6538-40 Ogden Avenue in Berwyn. With this addition, Safelite AutoGlass® now has a total of 10 locations in the Chicago area. Safelite AutoGlass celebrated a ribbon cutting in conjunction with the City of Berwyn and the Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC) on August 28.
The 4,000-square-foot facility easily houses up to 200 vehicle glass products for faster same-day or next-day service to the western Chicago community. Mobile appointments remain an option. The Berwyn store is easily accessible from I-55 and I-290 and offers customers a comfortable waiting area with cable TV and complimentary beverages.

The BDC facilitated the sale of the city-owned property to Safelite in order to fill a vacancy on the Ogden Avenue commercial corridor. Mayor Robert J. Lovero stated, “Berwyn has supported the revitalization of our stretch of Route 66, bringing back the road’s thriving auto culture. The arrival of Safelite has advanced this initiative.” Jon Fey, BDC Board President, continued, “Safelite’s facility is impressive. Their experienced staff and state-of-the-art equipment positions them for great success.”

“As we continue to grow our presence in the greater Chicago area, we look forward to continuing to serve the community for all their auto glass repair and replacement needs,” said Chris Sugano, Safelite’s local general manager. “Few people think about auto glass until they have serious damage. Small chips or cracks can easily and effectively be filled to restore the windshield’s original structural integrity and prevent further damage. It can be a safe and economical alternative to a full windshield replacement. It only takes about a half hour in our shop.”

Both in-shop and mobile vehicle glass service appointments are available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday.
