Known as the Hedges Administrative Center, the building at 218 Madison Street is the nerve center for the park district's 18 parks and approximately 3,000 programs.

From pools to parks, fields to fitness programs, the Park District of Oak Park offers a wide range of programs for everyone in the family.

Information on the programs and camps offered by this district are available on the park district's Web site, but officials say residents are welcome to sign-up in person at the center.

The district is governed by a board of five commissioners elected in staggered, four-year terms. The board usually meets at 7:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month for an open session.
