From building codes to board meetings, village hall is the hub of all things Oak Park.
Completed in the 1970s,…More the building's interior — a wide-open space where visitors can easily see village employees — was designed with a nod to open government.
The facility is home to many of the village's governmental agencies, including parking services, building and property standards, business services, a cashiers office and the health department.
The village manager and village clerk both have an office at village hall. The village president, whose position is part-time, also keeps an office here.
Oak Park's governing board meets for village board meetings in the village hall auditorium on the first and third Mondays of the month at 7:30pm.
The auditorium also houses adjudication hearings for those who've received local ordinance violations.
Village hall is also home to the Oak Park Police Department, located in the building's lower level.
