One Arrested After Fireworks Fracas
Man attacked, hospitalized after assault at Ridgeland and Lake.
One man remains in police custody Tuesday after a brutal street beating in Oak Park that left another man hospitalized, authorities said. Police Cmdr. LaDon Reynolds said the attack took place around 10 p.m Monday, shortly after the grand finale of the fireworks at Oak Park-River Forest High School. As crowds began to disperse — an outpouring of thousands of spectators OPRF Stadium and nearby neighborhoods — things took a nasty turn at Lake Street and Ridgeland Avenue, witnesses said.
