Seeing Pink on Black Friday at the Brown Elephant
Resale shop to feature unprecedented deep discounts to support the Howard Brown Center.
Black Friday brings most merchants into the black, but the Brown Elephant Resale Shop is giving a new twist to holiday shopping this season with a three-day "Pink Friday" sale. The store, 217 Harrison St. in Oak Park, typically uses profits to help the Chicago area's LGBT community secure a wide range of health services at the Howard Brown Health Center in Chicago. Starting Friday, the popular resale shops will knock 50 percent off its already discounted merchandise. The sale lasts through Sunday. The first-of-its kind promotion is also taking place at the Brown Elephant's other locations in Chicago's Lakeview and Andersonville neighborhoods.
