Third Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder for Attack at Ultra Foods Lot

The last suspect in the severe beating of a senior citizen outside of Ultra Foods last year has been charged with attempted murder and battery to a senior citizen, Forest Park police said Monday. Carol Mix, 62, of Maywood, will appear for a hearing at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Maybrook Court. Bail has been set at $50,000. According to police, Mix first fled to Iowa and then Wisconsin and back to Iowa where she had been arrested in Waterloo in early November and held in Blackhawk County Jail. On Nov. 27, Forest Park police received word that she waived extradition and the next day was brought back to Illinois, authorities said.
