Higher prices to refinery issues are driving up prices locally for gas.

It doesn't take much to realize that gas prices way up there; in fact they are rougly 50 cents higher in the Chicago area than they were last month, according to the Chicago Tribune. And they are likely to remain high for some time, the Tribune reports. Why? Sharply higher prices for crude oil and refinery issues - from regular maintenance at some refineries to a major overhaul of BP's Whiting refinery, the largest supplier of gasoline to Midwestern markets.
