Dems to Hold Inaugural Party Monday at Fitzgerald's

Festivities to honor swearing-in of Barack Obama and Joe Biden

If you haven't been invited to one of a number of inaugural balls on Monday night, then Fitzgerald's Nightclub in Berwyn just might be the place to party. The Democratic Party of Oak Park is hosting an Inaugural Celebration honoring President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden starting at 6:30 p.m. at 6615 Roosevelt Rd. Oak Park Dems Jubilant after Obama Wins Second Term

Dozens of party faithful jam Fitzgerald's in Berwyn to celebrate victories in U.S. Senate contests as well.

To say the least, it was an exciting night at Fitzgerald's in Berwyn for the Democratic Party of Oak Park as they hosted an election night viewing party. Dozens of party faithful whooped, hollered and cheered as they took in the results. It was a time for celebration for a large number of Oak Park volunteers who put in long hours of phone banking and canvassing in Iowa and Wisconsin during the summer and fall. During the four days running up to Election Day, more than 1,000 volunteers phone banked from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and drove up to Wisconsin over the weekend to canvass, said Geraldine Delaney, coordinator of the Obama campaign in Oak Park. "How can we lose with people like that?" asked Delaney, who was cheerful and positive all evening…

Oak Park Democrats Host Election Night Viewing Party at FitzGerald's

Drinks, politicians and election results at FitzGerald's Nightclub on Nov. 6.

Looking for a place to watch the election results roll in? FitzGerald's Nighclub is a good place to watch the various races unfold in the company of some local Democrats. The presidential race is expected to be a nail biter, so you might as well band together for support. Hosted by the Democratic Party of Oak Park, election coverage will be shown starting at 6:30 p.m. on FitzGerald's 9 x 16 foot big screen in the club, with a second screen provided in the heated outdoor tent outside as well—in case you need to step out for some fresh air. Campaign Munchies? Oak Park Democrats have you covered with plenty of snacks for hungry voters provided by Tom “Festival” Cimms. The menu will include jambalaya, Cochon de Lait (roast pork) and sausages …
