OPRF Football Field Vandalized Prior to Game Against Waubonsie Valley

Graffiti found at Oak Park and River Forest High School's football stadium prior to their last playoff game seems to indicate rival team.

Oak Park police said Tuesday that they are still investigating who was involved in vandalizing the football field at Oak Park and River Forest High School prior to the Huskies' playoff game against Waubonsie Valley High School's Warriors on Nov. 3. In the incident, obscenity-laced graffiti was found prior to the 1:30 p.m. game on the turf and along a wall in the stadium near the 50-yard line. According to the parent of a Huskies football player, "Waubonsie," was written in black spray paint on the turf. The f-word, and, "We come to Whoop Huskie Ass," was spray-painted in black paint against one of the stadium walls. "Warrior State," and, "I F**K Your Mom," were also found written on stadium walls. It's been one exciting season for Huskie fans! Last week's rematch against Hinsdale Central showed once again, that even when the team is down, they aren't out. While things are never certain in high school football, one thing can be confidently said about the team this season—it's going to be a good game.

Football Playoffs: OPRF to Face Hinsdale in First Playoff Match

The two teams met earlier this month, when the Huskies came from behind to beat the Red Devils in overtime.

Three weeks after Oak Park-River Forest came back from 21 points down to beat Hinsdale Central in overtime, the Huskies will get an opportunity for a repeat performance. According to the IHSA football playoff brackets released over the weekend, Hinsdale Central will host OPRF this weekend in the first round of the 8A tournament. The particular day and time for the game has not yet been set. The Huskies are 6-3. A three-game win streak this fall propelled OPRF, who ran off wins against Lyons Township, Hinsdale Central and Morton from Sept. 28 to Oct. 12. READ: OPRF Does It Again! OPRF Does It Again! Huskies Win in Overtime Thriller Against Hinsdale Central

Huskies come from behind to win game by a point in overtime.

Senior running back Jakari Cammon scored an overtime touchdown and ran in an all-or-nothing two-point conversion to give Oak Park River Forest a thrilling 42-41 road win over Hinsdale Central Friday night in a game that saw the Huskies trail 28-7 in the first quarter. Cammon finished the game with 206 yards on 17 carries. He scored three touchdowns, but it wasn't all pretty early on for the senior back.
