Heroin Arrest, 3D TV Stolen: Police Blotter

Oak Park police reports, May 9-16.

THURSDAY, MAY 16 Whitney O. Westbrooks, 23, of the 2700 block of Cherie Lane in Ottawa, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.  Police said a officer saw a plastic baggie fall from her shirt in the 600 block of N. Austin. She was found in possession of two baggies containing less than 1 gram of heroin, police said.  A wallet was taken from a gym bag when it was left unattended at a business in the 800 block of North Boulevard. The wallet contained about $300 in cash, misceallaneous credit cards and an ID. The estimated loss is $375.  TUESDAY, MAY 14 A home in the 400 block of S. Man Flashes Air Soft Pistol, Steals Cash from Register: Police Blotter

Oak Park police reports, April 29 to May 12.

SUNDAY, MAY 12 Stanley L. Donahue, 28, of the 9000 block of S. Brandon St., went into a store on the 500 block of Lake St. and after pulling out an air soft pistol, stole money out of the cash register. He was charged and arrested with aggravated robbery. Frank M. Moorhe, 38, or the 500 block of N. Central Ave., was charged and arrested for felony retail theft at about 9 a.m. at the 200 block of Lake St. FRIDAY, MAY 10 Nora M. Gutekanst-Barlett, 18, of the 100 block of S. Elmwood Ave. was charged and arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at about 2:15 p.m. near the 200 block of N. Hate Crime: Spray Painter Attacks Resident's Sexual Orientation in Oak Park

Oak Park police reported a hate crime that occurred last week when someone spray-painted the victim's driveway and car.

Oak Park police reported a hate crime that occurred in the 300 block of Wesley last week.  The offender used black spray paint to write "derogatory comments" on the victim's driveway and car. The comments referred to one of the resident's sexual orientation.  Police said the crime happened between 11 p.m. May 8 and 6 a.m. May 9. MORE POLICE REPORTS FRIDAY, MAY 10 Lair Scott, 53, of the 100 block of S. Maple in Oak Park, was charged with telephone harassment of a resident in the 900 block of Wesley. SATURDAY, MAY 4 Someone stole a black iPhone 5 in a locker at Oak Park-River Forest High School. The loss was $400.   Someone stole an air condenser unit after cutting its connecting pipes in the 400 block of S. Harvey. The estimated loss is $1,400.  A man grabbed a woman's butt after approaching her in the alley in the 1000 block of Jackson and then fled on foot. He's described as Hispanic, between 25 and 35, about 5-foot-8 with an average build, black hair and a small, dark beard and mustache. Oak Park police reports, April 26 to May 3.

FRIDAY, MAY 3 Lisa M. Fulgham-Tagget, 25, of the 800 block of S. 20th Avenue in Maywood, was booked on an outstanding warrant for her arrest in Chicago Ridge for retail theft charges.  Steven D. Tagget, 43, of the same address, was charged with retail theft in the 400 block of N. Harlem.  Someone took a blue GT Outpost men's bike in the 1000 block of Lemoyne. The loss is $440.  Eight Lenova X120 laptops were stolen from Oak Park-River Forest High School. The estimated loss is $4,000.  THURSDAY, MAY 2 A white Samsung Galaxy S3 cell phone was stolen from an unattended bag in the 600 block of Lake Street. Garages Burglarized, Car Windshields Smashed

Oak Park police reports, May 1-2.

THURSDAY, MAY 2 Christian L. Rogers, 26, of the 3300 block of W. Lexington in Chicago, was booked in Oak Park on two outstanding warrants for his arrest: one for a DUI charge and another for a charge of driving with a suspended/revoked license. Rogers was held in lieu of bond.  Someone broke into a garage in the 700 block of S. Humphrey and smashed a window to a car. Nothing was reported missing, but the estimated damage is $150.  Another garage was burglarized in the 600 block of S. Lombard. Someone entered it through an open overhead door, and then broke a window to the car. Woman Robbed at Blue Line; Several Cars Burglarized

Oak Park police reports, April 26-29.

MONDAY, APRIL 29 Someone broke into a Jeep Cherokee in the 100 block of Erie and stole the car's battery.  Jessie D. Fells, 49, of Berwyn, was charged with felony retail theft in the 2600 block of S. California in Chicago.  Someone entered the basement storage area of a building in the 1100 block of Washington and stole two bikes. One was a green women's Raleigh hybrid bike, and the other was a silver and black men's 21-speed Mongoose bike.  SUNDAY, APRIL 28 Francisca S. Cruz, 20, of the 5200 block of W. THURSDAY, APRIL 25 Janett A. Pardo, 21, of the 1700 block of W. Fiddyment Dr. in Romeoville was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident and with damaging village property.   Miguel Huerta, 24, of the 2700 block of N. McVicker in Chicago, was charged with driving with a revoked license in Oak Park.  WEDNESDAY, ARPIL 24 Marko A. Markovic, 31, of the 400 block of S. Man Attempts to Abduct Teen Girl in Oak Park

Police reported that a 70- to 75-year-old man yelled "get in my car" to the 14-year-old girl.

A man attempted abducting a 14-year-old girl in Oak Park last week but drove away when she said no, police reported Wednesday. The incident happened at about 3:30 p.m. April 26 in the 800 block of Division. Police said the man honked at the Oak Park girl and waved to her, then passed a second time and yelled, "get into my car." He drove southbound on Oak Park Avenue after the girl said no.  Police described the man as white, bald, between 70 and 75 with a wrinkled complexion and a "sloped" nose. Oak Park police reports, April 23.

TUESDAY, APRIL 23 Four teens attacked a Chicago juvenile in the 0-100 block of Lake Street and stole his phone, valued at $230.  Someone stole $1,570 in various gift cards from a desk drawer at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in the 500 block of S. East Avenue. The theft occurred sometime between April 16 and April 23.  Someone broke into a car after entering an unlocked garage in the 700 block of S. Taylor. Once inside, the offender stole a Garmin GPS unit, Feni sunglasses, 20 CDs, a baseball bat, a phone charger and two auxiliary cords.
