Business Comings & Goings: A quick look at what's happening in the business community in Forest Park, River Forest and Oak Park.
Pay What You Can Promotion Maya Del Sol in Oak Park is offering customers a chance to pay what they think is fair for their dinner from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight, April 15. It's the fifth year the restaurant has offered this promotion on Tax Day. Customers will be given a menu without any prices, and when they finish eating they can write what they believe is fair to pay. This applies only to the food menu. Tax and gratuity is also excluded. “Paying taxes is often stressful for a lot of people," general manager Paul Abu-Taleb said. "With that in mind, we want to turn things around and give our customers a chance to feel like they are in control and also have some fun by setting their own price for their meal." ABC7's Steve Dolinski recently dropped by Piggyback Tavern in Forest Park. Watch it here.

You can read our interview with Kurosaki and Rachel Dennis, owner of Lake Street Kitchen + Bar in Oak Park, here. Check out our review of Piggyback just after it …

If I did, it would probably still bring in for a visit, but it wouldn't do justice to the expansive and varied menu of appetizers, entrees and drinks available at the new Forest Park BBQ joint. Although Piggyback is brought to you by the same owner of Lake Street Bar + Grill in Oak Park, the vibe and menu is decidedly different. When I talked with Jason Kurosaki, head chef at both restaurants, back in October for a preview article on the new dining establishment, he assured me that Piggyback was all about the staples and the basics. "We want to do BBQ really well, not reinvent the wheel. It's perfect as it is," Kurosaki …
