Copper Downspouts Stolen From Homes: River Forest Police Blotter

River Forest police reports, Jan. 21-26.

SATURDAY, JAN. 26 Officers responded to a report of theft in the 800 block of Bonnie Brae around 4:26 p.m. Found stolen were about 50 feet of copper downspouts from the property. An estimate of the loss was unavailable at the time. The resident told police he believed the copper was stolen between Jan. 24-26. Officers responded to a traffic accident in the area of Harlem and Central around 1:50 a.m. Further investigation on the scene revealed that one driver, Scott David Subeck, 40, of the 0-100 block of Brookhill Drive in Northfield, was driving under the influence, police said. Subeck reportedly failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Also found was 5.8 grams of cannabis and a glass pipe. Subeck was charged with driving …

He then ran out of the store and into a silver 1996 Honda sedan, which was last seen headed north on Harlem. The estimated loss was $12. Jennifer E. Pine, 34, of the 4100 block of west 24th Place in Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass to a building in the 400 block of south Oak Park Avenue around 6:16 p.m. Pine was later released on bond. TUESDAY, JAN. 22 A River Forest juvenile was charged with possession of cannabis at Oak Park and River Forest High School around 2 p.m. The student will appear in local ordinance court in February and was later released to parents. Jose Birriel, 38, of the 800 block of Ferdinand Avenue in Forest Park, was charged with deceptive practice around 4 p.m. Police said he paid his rent with a check from a closed account. He was issued a court date and later released on bond. Police: Oak Park Woman Left Children Alone for 24 Hours

Bridgette L. Palton, 36, of Oak Park was arrested at Maybrook Courthouse. Police said three children younger than 8 were left alone for a full day.

Oak Park police reported they arrested Bridgette Palton, 36, of the 500 block of Washington, at Maybrook Courthouse on Jan. 13. Palton is charged with three felony counts of endangering the life and health of a child after she allegedly left three children under 8 years old alone in her home for about 24 hours. Police said they got a call from a third party that reported that the children had been left alone. Police followed up and learned Palton had not been home in about 24 hours. The Department of Child and Family Services took the children into protective custody, Cmdr. LaDon Reynolds of the Oak Park Police Department said. After learning Palton had an upcoming court date, police said they arrested her at Maybrook Courthouse. Palton …

Police Charge 5 Drivers with DUI: River Forest Police Blotter

SUNDAY, JAN. 20 A River Forest officer on patrol in the area of Quick and William reported hearing an accident around 3:25 a.m. The officer then saw a vehicle that had struck a recycling bin on Quick. The officer pulled the driver over and reported smelling alcohol on the breath of Paul Roeser, 49, of the 7200 block of Oak in River Forest. Roseser failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody. He was later charged with driving under the influence and other violations. An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle around 2:29 a.m. in the 1300 block of Harlem that was seen traveling at 73 mph in a 30-mph zone. TUESDAY, JAN. 15 Graviela C. Guajardo, 32, of the 2600 block of north Menard in Chicago, was charged with aggravated assault at about 1:31 p.m. in the 6400 block of North Avenue after he threatened an employee at a store, police said. He was processed and later released on bond. An Oak Park resident reported to police that their garage in the 1000 block of south Euclid was entered through an unlocked service door. Stolen were a juicer, a sandwich maker, baking pans and a portable heater. The estimated loss was $780. SUNDAY, JAN. 13 Police arrested and charge two juveniles from Chicago with battery at 10:21 p.m. in the 100 block of Madison in Chicago. Both were processed and turned over to their parents. Police reported finding a 2009 Saturn Vue that was reported stolen from Oak Park on Nov. 27, 2012. It was returned to the owner. An iPod Touch was reported stolen from the bedroom of a home in the 1100 block of south Scoville between Jan. 11-12. The estimated loss was $250. A resident of the 200 block of South Boulevard reported that between Jan. 4-13, some cut the catalytic converter out from under their Jeep. The estimated damage was $40. SUNDAY, JAN. 13 Police were dispatched to Shell gas station around 4:14 p.m. for a report of retail theft. An employee told police that a woman came into the station store, picked up several items of packaged food products and then ran to a waiting car and fled. The total loss was estimated at $6.45. An officer on patrol in the area of Thatcher and Oak reported seeing a southbound car driving without its lights on at about 12:24 a.m. When officers stopped the car, they said the driver showed signs of being intoxicated. A 33-year-old Chicago man was charged with robbery Jan. 8 after attempting to elude police by running on the CTA tracks and part of the median on the Eisenhower Expressway, police said.
