A 17-year-old student from Dolton was charged with two drug-related felonies Feb. 6 after 16 marijuana-filled baggies were found in a lock box disguised as a Hebrew-English dictionary in his Concordia University dorm room, River Forest police said. Campus security received a tip that a student had cannabis and paraphernalia in his room at David Jonathon Hall and smelled marijuana when they opened the door of the suspect's room, River Forest Dep. Chief James O'Shea said. Lying open on the desk was an open lock box, disguised as the dictionary, containing 16.3 grams of marijuana in 18 separate baggies, O’Shea said. Dino E. Conner, 47, of Chicago was apprehended after he ran back to the store, discarded the goods valued at $301.29 and then fled on foot north on Monroe Street, where was captured by officers who responded to the scene. 15-year-old tosses semi-automatic into bushes in River Forest after police close in, two accomplices will be petitioned for disorderly conduct.
A 15-year-old from Maywood will be petitionted to juvenile court for unlawful use of a weapon after police found a .380 semi-automatic pistol he'd thrown in the bushes, police said. Authorities said around 6:35 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17,officers responded to the alley at the rear of the 7300 block of Holly Court after a resident reported that three suspicious males who did not live in the neighborhood were walking there. As officers arrived, they observed the three subjects in the 500 block of William Street at Quick Avenue. As they approached, one of the teens appeared to reach inside his coat and then throw an object into nearby bushes.
