Move to be taken up at next status hearing on Nov. 27
As the state continues gathering evidence in the case against three men accused of the July 11, 2011 murder of a Chicago woman, a motion to throw out their arrests will be argued next month. During the next status hearing, set for 9 a.m. Nov. 27, defense attorneys will bring their motion on behalf of Devin Bickham Sr., and his son Devin Ardell Bickham and Cardell Taylor. The presiding judge Noreen Valena Love will make that determination. That hearing will be in Maybrook Court. The three have been charged with four counts of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Chervon Monique Alexander in a parking lot in Priory Park. Included was a charge of murder in exchange for money. Authorities say Bickham Sr. offered Taylor…

Information gathering, exchange continuing, status hearing Aug. 27.
More than a year has passed since three men - one a former North Chicago cop - were charged with plotting and killing a 29-year-old Chicago woman in the River Forest parking lot. But don't expect a trial date to be set soon in the case against Devin Bickham Sr., his son Devin Ardvell Bickham Jr. and Cardell Taylor. Both sides are going through the pre-trial discovery phase, which includes the gathering and exchanging information. The Cook County State's Attorney's Office is nowhere near getting a trial date, a spokesman said. A status hearing is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 27 in Room 105 of the Cook County Courthouse in Maybrook. The three are still being held without bond in Cook County Jail. Devin Bickham Sr., 39, and his son Devin Arvdell …

Former cop, his son and an accomplice indicted for first-degree murder.
Two men from Blue Island and a third from Chicago will be arraigned in Cook County Circuit Court later this month for the July 11 shooting death of Chervon Alexander. Devin A. Bickham Sr., 39, his 20-year-old son Devin Ardvell Bickham Jr., and Cardell Taylor, 35, have each been charged with first-degree murder. They are still being held without bond in Cook County Jail as they await their Aug. 29 court date. Authorities accused Bickham Sr., a former North Chicago police officer, of offering Taylor $400 to kill Alexander. During a preliminary hearing last month, Cook County State's Attorney Maureen O'Brien told the court the older Bickham had been planning the crime for some time as a way of getting out his relationship with her. According…
