Coffee shop seeks submissions for one-day art sale.
The owners of the Yova Shop are planning an art sale to coincide with the closing of the South Oak Park independent coffee house. Co-owner Deza Pascual posted the following message on the shop's Facebook page: Want to sell some of your art? Looking for artists for an event to be held on Saturday 5/26. Please post your info/website/contact info on our page if you're interested. Thanks!! Interested? Contact theyovashop@gmail.com. Pascual recently told Patch the store, 818 S. Oak Park Ave., is closing because she and her brother are pursuing new directions with their careers.

Oak Park Ave. that Pascual began with her brother Ed Ruselle in 2010 is scheduled to close at the end of May. It's not that business was bad, she said. It's about committment. "To be the face of something, you have to be there all the time," she said. And that's not something she or Ruselle were ready to do. Pascual, 32, already holds down a full-time job for a general contracting company. Ruselle had been pursuing a master's degree while working in the financial industry.
