Oak Park Among Top 10 Creative Class Locales in Chicago Area
Community ranks fourth on list Lakeview and Hyde Park in survey by Atlantic Cities.
Census data has confirmed what many in Oak Park may already know. The village has one of the highest concentrations of people working in the "creative class," according to census data by Atlantic Cities, a website operated by the Atlantic Monthly. The website broke down professions data by census tract around the Chicago area, defining “creative class” as those people working in science and technology, business and management, arts, culture, media and entertainment, law, and healthcare.
