Coyote Spotted in River Forest This Morning

Patch reader and River Forest resident Jim Weiss shared a photo of a coyote that he snapped this morning at Iowa Street and Park Avenue. The picture was taken around 8:15 a.m. after dropping his son off at school. Have you spotted any local wildlife recently? We saw a coyote at 8:30 this morning running along the railroad embankment behind our house on the 300 block of Park Ave. Just then our neighbors let their very big dog out into the yard. The coyote circled back, and ran down the hill toward their yard. The dog and the coyote stared each other down across the fence, and after about 30 seconds, the coyote trotted off.
