Status Hearing Set for 3 Accused of 2011 Murder in River Forest

Ex-cop Devin Bickham Sr., his son Devin Ardell Bickham and Cardell Taylor to appear at Maybrook Courthouse on Oct. 11.

A status hearing is set for next week in the case of three men—one a former North Chicago police officer—who are accused of plotting and killing a 29-year-old Chicago woman in a River Forest parking lot in 2011. The hearing for Devin Bickham Sr., and his son Devin Ardell Bickham and Cardell Taylor is set for 9 a.m. Oct. 11 in Room 105 of the Cook County Courthouse in Maybrook. The judge will be Noreen Valena Love. It is uncertain if a trial date will be set at that time. The three are still being held without bond in Cook County Jail. Let's get to it: Resident Missing: Friends, family and others are conducting a community-wide effort to look for Jassen Strokosch, a 39-year-old Oak Parker who was reportedly last seen at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Cermak Road and Des Plaines Avenue in Forest Park. Volunteers have been passing out leaflets at El stations. Others have been looking in areas from the Austin neighborhood to Thatcher Woods in River Forest for the Irving Park School parent and co-chair of the District 97's successful referendum campaign. Three Held without Bond in Shooting Death

Next court appearance slated for Thursday morning in Maybrook.

A Cook County judge ordered two men from Blue Island and third from Chicago held without bond Friday in connection with the premeditated shooting death of 29-year-old Chervon Alexander. Devin Bickham Sr., 39, his son Devin Arvdell Bickham, 20 and Cardell Taylor, 35, are in the Cook County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing, scheduled for 9 am Thursday at Maybrook Court, River Forest Deputy Chief Craig Rutz said. Each is charged with four counts of first-degree murder.  Included is a charge of murder in exchange for money, according to Oak Leaves.
