A status hearing is set for next week in the case of three men—one a former North Chicago police officer—who are accused of plotting and killing a 29-year-old Chicago woman in a River Forest parking lot in 2011. The hearing for Devin Bickham Sr., and his son Devin Ardell Bickham and Cardell Taylor is set for 9 a.m. Oct. 11 in Room 105 of the Cook County Courthouse in Maybrook. The judge will be Noreen Valena Love. It is uncertain if a trial date will be set at that time. The three are still being held without bond in Cook County Jail. A Cook County judge ordered two men from Blue Island and third from Chicago held without bond Friday in connection with the premeditated shooting death of 29-year-old Chervon Alexander. Devin Bickham Sr., 39, his son Devin Arvdell Bickham, 20 and Cardell Taylor, 35, are in the Cook County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing, scheduled for 9 am Thursday at Maybrook Court, River Forest Deputy Chief Craig Rutz said. Each is charged with four counts of first-degree murder. Included is a charge of murder in exchange for money, according to Oak Leaves.
