I am not only a mom but a heart mom. What is a heart mom? It's having an amazing warrior of a son that was born with the #1 birth defect in the U.S., congenital heart defect. My son Luke is truly a hero. At only 1 week old he had his first heart surgery to correct his heart defect Tetralogy of Fallot and at 9 months old he had his first and thankfully only open-heart surgery. Full-time mom and I work full-time but I still find time to be Regional Group Coordinator of Mended Little Hearts of Chicago. An amazing support, advocacy and awareness group for families of children with congenital heart defects.
