Donate Blood at Oak Park Library Aug. 15 from Noon to 4 p.m.

Heartland Blood Centers will hold a Blood Drive on Thursday, Aug. 15, from Noon to 4 p.m. at the Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake Street. Heartland Blood Centers is the sole provider of blood products to Rush Oak Park Hospital, Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital and Northwestern Memorial Hospital and more than 40 other hospitals in the Chicago metro area.

All donors will receive a certificate for a free quart of Oberweis ice cream when they donate blood.  It’s just one more reason to donate blood this summer.

Potential donors must be at least 16 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds to donate blood.  A photo ID is required when donors come to donate blood on Aug. 15.

Some health issues and certain areas of travel may be cause for deferral. If you have specific questions, please contact Heartland Blood Centers at 1-800-7-TO-GIVE.
