Thank you to everyone who helped to welcome the SOR All-Stars to Oak Park on August 1! With the help of Maya Del Sol and many friends and neighbors, we were able to successfully raise $5,000 for our scholarship fund. The money that was raised will come right back to the community in the form of rock music lessons for kids whose families need help with the cost of tuition. We are committed to bringing the very best music education to as many people as we can. Establishing a scholarship fund in just under three months of being open, is something we are thrilled to be able to do! Thank you, Maya Del Sol, for partnering with us for the event. Thank you to Eric’s Deli and Geppettos Pizza for feeding lunch to dozens of hungry young musicians and their chaperones. Thank you also to the many local businesses who contributed to the swag bags. And to everyone who attended, we hope that you will take advantage of the offers that were in your swag bags.
The All-Stars and their parents came from all over the country and Mexico and they had nothing but positive things to say about Oak Park. Thank you so very much to everyone who came out to support us or sent us a message of encouragement. Each and every one of you made the day truly special for all of us. And finally, thanks to our awesome staff, parents, and students. You make every day something to look forward to.
