Oak Park Native, 'Veep' Star Anna Chlumsky Celebrates Baby, 1st Emmy Nomination

Anna Chlumsky received her first Emmy nomination for her role in the hit HBO series, "Veep," just a week after she delivered her first baby girl, People reports.

Anna Chlumsky, an Oak Park native who we remember from My Girl and now see in her starring role in HBO series Veep has celebrated major milestones in the past week.

Chlumsky, 32, on July 11 gave birth to her first child, daughter Penelope Joan So, and on July 18 earned her first Emmy nomination for her work on VeepPeople reported Thursday.

Chlumsky plays Amy Brockheimer, the vice president's workaholic Chief of Staff on Veep, which finished its second season last month. 

Chlumsky attended Grace Lutheran School in River Forest and Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park. She graduated from the University of Chicago in 2002, Cook County Clerk records show.
