Holmes Elementary School

About: According to the Holmes PTO website:
"You might be surprised to discover how many school programs are sponsored by the PTO. Generally speaking, however, we do five things:
  1. Raise money to pay for things that the school district doesn’t, like instruments for music class, field trips, and certain classroom supplies (see where the money goes).
  2. Help teachers, parents and children get to know each other better by sponsoring social events like the International Taste of Holmes and the annual Skating Party (see calendar).
  3. Help our children learn more by sponsoring academic challenges like the spelling bee, special tutoring and after-school courses.
  4. Promote healthy living and environmental responsibility with activities like the organic garden and extensive recycling programs.
  5. Keep parents up to date with communications like the school directory and the weekly e-mail bulletins (see Holmes Headlines)."
