Lilies and Spikes is a salon and spa for kids and teens, which opened in Oak Park earlier this year. The salon provides more than just hair cuts for kids, offering a range of hair and beauty services including haircuts and color, hair treatments, make-up, prom & formal styling, kids’ manicures and pedicures, mom and me manicures & pedicures, birthday party packages, and more. Lilies and Spikes has a sophisticated atmosphere that will also appeal to the teen set but is still fun and relaxed for younger kids.
This Halloween, the salon is joining in on the fun with an online costume contest. Entrants simply need to post a picture of their children in Halloween costume on the Lilies and Spikes Facebook page (an event has been set up) or they can stop in the salon and have a picture taken and it will be uploaded. Pictures with the most “likes” will win. The 1st prize is a $100 gift certificate, the 2ndprize is $30 and the 3rd prize is $15. The deadline for entries is October 31, 2013 by 7:00pm.
The owners of Lilies and Spikes, Edward and Kelly Tare, have been in the hair business for over 10 years, with Clydon Salon in River Forest, IL. After much success there, they decided to create a salon dedicated to kids and teens, hence the birth of Lilies and Spikes. They also own Hair Butterflies in Oak Park, which is a lice and nit removal salon.
