Dr. Juergen Liebermann of Oak Park Named Embryologist of the Month by the American College of Embryology

Dr. Juergen Liebermann of Fertility Centers of Illinois has been selected as the July embryologist of the month by The American College of Embryology. Dr. Liebermann is the director of the embryology, andrology and endocrinology laboratories at the Fertility Centers of Illinois and handles more than 1500 patient cases per year.  
  
Embryologists work with sperm, eggs, and embryos during fertility treatment. Once sperm or eggs are brought to the laboratory, embryologists are responsible for semen analysis, egg freezing, in vitro fertilization, embryo freezing and monitoring of embryo development. Advanced expertise in this field allows for higher pregnancy success rates and more effective treatment for those with infertility.

Dr. Liebermann is an internationally-recognized pioneer and thought leader in the field of embryology. He has been published in 52 publications, which includes 10 book chapters written for industry professionals. In his career, he has given 117 presentations to fertility professionals in several countries throughout North America, Asia, Europe and South America. 

Through international teamwork, exhaustive research and laboratory work, Dr. Liebermann strives to stay ahead of the curve to help ensure his patients’ success. His special areas of interest include developing new techniques for culturing embryos and freezing of eggs and embryos.

Dr. Liebermann obtained his graduate degree in Agricultural Biology in 1990 from the University of Hohenheim, Germany and received his doctoral degree in Agricultural Science in 1995 from the Technical University of Munich-Weihenstephan, Germany.  He joined Fertility Centers of Illinois as the lab director of IVF for the River North lab in 2004. He resides in Oak Park with his wife and five children.
