Meeting called to order at 7:30pm

Present:  President Alice Calabrese-Berry;   Trustees Kevin Crowell,  Genie Halloran,  Joan O'Connor, Mary T. Small;  Library Director Sophia Anastos;  Library staff Joanna Bertucci,  Susan Quinn,  Ashley Wescott.

 

Absent: Trustees Thomas Smedinghoff, Claudette Zobel.

  

Minutes: October 15, 2013 approved unanimously.

 

Warrant List:  October 2013 list approved unanimously after brief discussion regarding vendor PaperCut which is providing a new way to print off of the library computers.

 

Director's Report: 1)Repairs done to heating system 2)  Update on the status of the Maywood Library which was closed for a time but is now open on a part time basis  3) Feasibility study is in progress  4) Oak Park River Forest Community Foundation awarded a $2,100 grant to library for the purchase of a defibrillator, a practice defibrillator & a cabinet to house the defibrillator  5) Village President Cathy Aducci  meet with the library staff as part of the library's outreach program.  Also, Amy Stern from U.S. Citizen & Immigration Services was at library to discuss available services   6) A new bulletin board, on the 1st floor just left of the stairs, is for use by the Township Senior Services to highlight their activities  6) Architecture lecture, which was held at library on Nov 16th, was very well attended.

 

Children's Services Update Report:  Ashley Wescott reported the progress that is being made in Creating Young Readers, Stimulating Imagination, Summer Reading, Brower Bin installation project.

 

New Business:  Facility Committee report by Kevin Crowell who meet with District 90 board members regarding north parking lot renovations. Several ideas were discussed and further meetings might be needed before a final plan is in place.

Finance & Development Committee report by Joan O'Connor that documents for the Feasibility Study have been signed.

Policy Committee report by Genie Halloran that a Program Policy has been finalized.

 

Other New Business: 1)2013 River Forest Public Library Levy was approved unanimously  2) there was discussion regarding the Internet Policy  as it pertains to inappropriate use of library computers.

 

There will be no December board meeting
