SUNDAY, AUGUST 4

Burglar Caught in Mudroom

Police charged Vincent McCombs, 30, of Chicago with residential burglary after residents in the 100 block of Park Boulevard heard him in their home around 6 a.m. Police said the homeowner woke up to a banging sound in their home and found McCombs in the mudroom. McCombs was charged and held on bond.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 3

Man With .268 BAC Charged with DUI

On 3 August, a River Forest officer conducting traffic enforcement on the 7600 block of North Ave., 

Police charged Timothy Creed, 31, of Glenview, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Police stopped Creed for speeding in the 7600 block of North Avenue. His blood alcohol content was .268, police said.

Oak Park Woman Robbed

A juvenile stole an Oak Park woman's purse around 7:20 p.m. in the 7200 block of Quick Avenue. Police said the woman, who sustained injuries to her wrist and shoulder, struggled with the offender before giving up her purse. The juvenile was last seen running on Quick toward Bonnie Brae, police said.

Residential Burglary

Someone broke into a home in the 1000 block of Thatcher Avenue around 11:30 a.m. Police said someone removed the door handle, but nothing was reported missing. 

Electronics, Cash Stolen in Burglary

Someone entered a home in the 1000 block of Franklin Avenue through an open window and stole two tablets, a flat screen TV and about $300 in cash sometime between 9:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. 

$15,000 Statue Stolen

Someone stole a 7-foot statue of a nude woman from a home in the 1200 block of Franklin Avenue. The total estimated loss is $15,000, police said. 

THURSDAY, AUGUST 1

Drug Paraphernalia Arrest

Police charged Tarik Page, 37, of Oak Park, with possession of drug paraphernalia after an officer saw him throw a glass cylinder, used to ingest crack cocaine, to the ground while riding a bike around 2:10 a.m. 

Aggravated DUI

Ingrid Alatorre, 29, of Chicago, was arrested for aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol after police found her, seemingly unconscious, in her car around 7:50 a.m. in the 500 block of William Avenue.

Alatorre was also charged with several traffic offenses and is awaiting a court date.

Burglary 

Someone broke into a home in the 1000 block of Monroe Street sometime between 10 and 11 a.m. and stole sterling silverware.  

Theft

Police charged Rafael Raldiris, 37, of Melrose Park, with felony theft after he stole about 300 feet of metal guard rail from the Des Plaines River bridge. 

Police said Melrose Park police responded to an accident, where the driver lost the load of guard rail and fled the scene. Raidiris is awaiting a court date, police said. 

TUESDAY, JULY 30

Retail Theft Arrest

Police charged Samantha Mikos, 24, of Chicago, with retail theft at Whole Foods, 7245 Lake St., after she stole about $132 in merchandise, police said. She was charged with a Class A misdemeanor and is awaiting a court date.
