A woman reported she saw a neighbor abusing his dog in the 1000 block of South 7th Avenue about 4:30 p.m. The man told police he gave one of his dogs a smack on the behind because it wasn’t listening to him. The man was given a citation for having one of his dogs off a leash.

Dog Fight Leads to Human Fight in La Grange

A man reported his dog was attacked by another dog and that the dog’s owners “put his hands on him,” near the intersection of 7th and 49th avenues. A 32-year-old man and his girlfriend were walking their boxer about 10 a.m. when it started fighting with a lab. The owner of the lab, a 47-year-old male, grabbed the boxer, whose owner quickly took the dog back from the other man. 

The owner of the lab then pushed the other man to the ground, grabbed his neck and said, “How do you like it?” The man denied grabbing the man, police said.

Credit Card Scammer Needed a Bite to Eat, Orders Al's Char-House

A man reported he received a $135 charge made with a fraudulent credit card from Al’s Charhouse for a carry-out order about 6:40 p.m.

A man reported he was pushed near the intersection of La Grange Road and Harris Avenue about 5 p.m. Police said two men, both cooks at Al’s Charhouse, were arguing in the basement of the restaurant.

Don't Mess With the Huggies

Police charged Christine Anderson, 32, of the 800 block of North Austin Boulevard in Oak Park, with retail theft and battery after she stole $140 in Huggies diapers from Jewel, 7525 W. Lake St., about 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, and then fought with store security. She was charged with felony retail theft charges because of a 2005 Retail Theft conviction, police said. 

Trash Talker Also a Trash Thrower

Police arrested a 49-year-old man who was threatening to hit people with a garbage can at the intersection of North and Harlem avenues. Police responded to a disturbance in the area about 11 p.m., where Edward Lymon refused to provide an address to police and threatened to batter the officer, police said. He was charged with misdemeanor aggravated assault.
