Oak Park police reports, June 12-14

FRIDAY, JUNE 14

iPhone Stolen

Someone stole an unattended iPhone 4S from a dining table in the 700 block of Lake Street between 11 p.m. June 13 and 12:30 a.m. June 14. The total estimated loss is $549, police said.

THURSDAY, JUNE 13

Fire Under Investigation

Police are investigating a fire that started around 6:45 p.m. in a garbage can in the 1200 block of North Edmer Avenue. Police said the fire spread from the garbage can to the garage door and garage gutters. The estimated cost of damage is $1,075. The  cause of the fire is still under investigation, police said.

Laundry Detergent Theft

Police charged Jemil Boykin, 40, of Chicago with retail theft after he stole two bottles of laundry detergent from Dominick’s, 259 Lake St. around 1 p.m. He was processed and held on bond.

Warrant: Marijuana Possession

Police charged Alexander Mayo, 18, of the 1100 block of South Cuyler Avenue in Oak Park with a warrant for marijuana possession around 9:30 p.m.

Lawn Chairs Stolen

Someone stole two lawn chairs, worth about $700, from a yard in the 200 block of Home Avenue between 6 and 6:15 a.m. Police said the man who stole the chairs was wearing a baseball hat and put the chairs into a dark Buick Rendezvous.

Wallet Stolen

Someone stole a wallet from an unattended purse on a desk in the 600 block of North Harlem Avenue between 6:40 and 6:50 a.m. The total estimated loss is $160, police said.

Bike Theft

  • Someone stole a bike between 5 p.m. June 12 and 1 p.m. June 13 in the 1000 block of North Boulevard. The total estimated loss is $230, police said.
  • Someone stole an unattended bike from a yard in the 500 block of South Wesley Avenue between 7 and 9:30 p.m.

Stolen Car Found

A 2013 Toyota Corolla reported stolen May 24 was found by South Holland police around 2:40 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12

Patio Chairs Stolen

Someone stole two patio chairs from a yard in the 800 block of Columbian Avenue between 4:40 and 8:30 p.m.
