Sunday, November 17

Gun, Ammo Stolen From Unlocked Car

Someone stole a duffle bag containing clothing, toiletries and a black glock handgun in a locked case with two magazines from an unlocked car in the 1000 block of North Kenilworth Avenue between 10:20 and 10:40 a.m. The total estimated loss is $789, police said. 

Break-in Activates Business' Burglar Alarm

Someone forced open the door to a business suite and activated the alarm in the 6400 block of West North Avenue between about 12:15 and 1:40 a.m. The estimated cost of damage is $300, police said. 

Saturday, November 16

Warrant: Suspended License

Police charged Darrin Harris, 37, of Iowa City, IA, with a warrant out of DuPage County for driving on a suspended license near the intersection of Lake Street and East Avenue about 2:45 p.m. He was processed and released on bond. 

Leaving the Scene of an Accident

Police charged a female juvenile with leaving the scene of an accident near the intersection of Harlem Avenue and I-290 about 4:25 p.m. She was processed and released on bond. 

Bike, iPod Stolen in Garage Burglary

Someone entered an unlocked garage in the 600 block of South Lyman Avenue and stole a boys bike and an iPod and cash from an unlocked car between 11 p.m. Nov. 15 and 6:30 a.m. Nov. 16. The total estimated loss is $215, police said. 

Friday, November 15

Trespassing

Someone removed a window pane to enter a home in the 800 block of South Humphrey Avenue between 1 and 5 p.m. Nothing was stolen. The estimated cost of damage is $100, police said. 

Theft Arrest

Police charged an Oak Park juvenile with an Oct. 25 theft at Oak Park and River Forest High School about 8:45 a.m. He was released to a parent. 

$800 Stolen in Burglary

Someone climbed up to a balcony to break into an apartment in the 900 block of North Boulevard and stole $800 from a jar in the bedroom between 6 and 9:40 p.m. No other loss reported. 

Marijuana Possession

Police charged Chrystal Escher, 29, of Bensenville, with marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 0-100 block of Harrison Street about 10:25 p.m. She was released on bond. 

Thursday, November 14

Man Steals 23 Bottles of 5-Hour Energy Drinks

A man in a blue, orange and white knit hat and a black coat stole 16 extra strength 5-Hour Energy drinks and seven regular 5-Hour-Energy drinks from 7-Eleven, 240 Chicago Ave., about 11:50 p.m. The total estimated loss is $79, police said. 

Wednesday, November 13

Robbery Reported on Harvey

Two males robbed an Oak Park resident in the 100 block of South Harvey Avenue about 6:15 p.m. Police said the offenders demanded the victim's cell phone and fled north on Harvey Avenue. The total estimated loss is $250, police said. 

Storage Bins Stolen From Porch

Someone stole two metal storage bins from a porch in the 1100 block of North Harvey Avenue between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. The total estimated loss is $36, police said. 

Thursday, November 7

Burglary on Scoville

Someone stole a purse containing two wallets, credit cards and IDs, a cell phone, cash from a home in the 100 block of South Scoville Avenue between 11:30 p.m. Nov. 6 and 6 a.m. Nov. 7. The woman's wallet was found in a recycling bin in the alley in the 100 block of South Elmwood Avenue. The man's wallet was found in a wood planter in the 100 block of South Scoville Avenue. The total estimated loss is $185, police said. 

Friday, November 1

Vandalism

Someone scratched a 2004 Toyota Highlander parked in the 100 block of South Oak Park Avenue between noon and 7 p.m. The estimed cost of damage is $400, police said.
