Knife Pulled in Robbery on Garfield

Man pulls knife in one of two robberies reported in Oak Park on Sept. 19.

A man pulled a pocket knife on an Oak Park resident and demanded his wallet about 3:50 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Police said the man approached the victim on Garfield Avenue near Lyman Avenue, demanded the wallet, then reached into their pocket and took a pink HTC cell phone. The offender then got into a beige Jeep going west on Garfield, police said. The total estimated loss is $200. 

A second robbery was reported about 7:40 p.m. Thursday, after a male teen knocked an iPad from a man's hand in the 100 block of Chicago Avenue. The offender, with two other males, ran west on Chicago. The total estimated loss is $500, police said.
