UPDATED: Police ID Shooting Victim in Oak Park

Police investigate Thursday shooting in the 900 block of Taylor Avenue in Oak Park, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Oak Park police are investigating a shooting in the 900 block of Taylor Avenue in Oak Park, the Chicago Tribune reported Thursday night.

A Village of Oak Park news release identified the man as James F. Wilson, 500, of the 900 block of N. Taylor. He was found bleeding near his basement apartment. 

Wilson was seriously injured with wounds to his shoulder and jaw. He was transported to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood where he was listed in critical, but stable condition Friday morning, according to the release.

Police have not established a motive for the shooting, but say indications are that Wilson knew his assailant.
