Relative Suspected of Gun Theft in River Forest

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18
Warrant: Controlled Substance Possession
Police charged Willie Fields, 59, of Chicago, with a warrant out of Chicago for possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested about 9 p.m. at Whole Foods Market, during an officer's check for suspicious activity, police said. He was taken into custody and eventually picked up by Chicago PD for further investigation, police said.

Bike Stolen
Someone stole a bike left outside Dominick's, 7501 W. North Ave., about 10:30 a.m.
Relative Suspected of Stealing Gun
A resident in the 100 block of Gale reported a family member may have stolen their gun and sold it about 5:15 p.m. Police said the resident is transient and therefore difficult to get a hold of.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16
Financial Identity Theft Report
A woman reported someone opened several credit cards under her name about 3:30 p.m. The victim cancelled the cards, and filled out the proper reports with all of the credit bureaus and the Federal Trade Commission, police said.
