Felony Theft Arrest
Police charged Rafael Martinez, 40, of Chicago with felony theft around 9:15 a.m. in the 3500 block of West Cortland Street. He was given a July 5 court date and held for bond hearings, police said.Construction Saw, Tools Stolen From Car
Someone threw a brick through a window of a car in the 700 block of North Lombard Avenue and stole a construction saw and other tools between 2:30 p.m. June 26 and 7:15 a.m. June 27. The total estimated loss is $1,100, police said.Like Oak Park-River Forest Patch on Facebook
Teen Spray Paints Car
A teenage boy with a goatee spray painted the windshield, side window, back door handles and passenger's side doors of a car in the 300 block of South Euclid Avenue between about 12:30 and 10:30 a.m. Police said the car owner confronted the teen, who was parked in the man's parking spot, at the scene.The total cost of damage is about $600, police said.
Catalytic Converters Stolen
- Someone stole a catalytic converter from a Chevy between 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Erie Court.
- Someone stole a catalytic converter from a Pontiac between 3 and 11:59 p.m. in the 500 block of North Austin Boulevard. The estimated loss is $200, police said.
Car Break-in
Someone used a pry tool to break into a car in the 1100 block of Clarence Avenue and stole a box containing about $350 in household items between 9:30 p.m. June 26 and 9:30 a.m. June 27.Bike Theft
Someone stole a $250 bike from a yard in the 300 block of North Linden Street between 9 p.m. June 26 and 2 p.m. June 27.WEDNESDAY, JUNE 26
Bike Thefts
- Someone stole a $300 men's bike from a patio in the 100 block of Forest Avenue between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- Someone stole a $50 women's bike from an unlocked garage in the 300 block of North Lombard Avenue between 5 p.m. June 25 and 7 a.m. June 27.
Theft From Storage Locker
Someone stole a bike, a helmet and a lock from a storage locker in the 300 block of Wisconsin Avenue around noon. The total estimated loss is $1,105, police said.See also:
