Village, D97 to Discuss New Administration Building, Madison TIF at Dec. 14 Meeting

Should District 97 build a new administration building on the Village Hall parking lot? Let local officials know your opinion this weekend.

Oak Park village officials and Oak Park Elementary School District 97 officials Saturday will hold a special meeting to discuss the Madison Street Tax Increment Financing District (TIF) and the possibility of building a new District 97 administration building on the existing Village Hall parking lot at 123 Madison St.

Officials will also address the Oak Park Police Department's space needs, opportunities for service collaboration between the village and District 97 if a new building is built and the impact a new building would have on the community.

Repairs to Oak Park Elementary School District 97's administration building could cost almost $3 million, according to a report from architecture firm STR Partners.

STR Partners in November shared a comprehensive report on the administration building at 970 Madison St., as well as a building capacity study, an accessibility study and an air conditioning study. Read more here

The meeting starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Village Hall, 123 Madison St., Oak Park.
