Siblings Charged in Oak Park Shooting

Police charge Eric Anderson, 18, with attempted first-degree murder, home invasion, aggravated battery and armed robbery in the shooting of an Oak Park man.

Police have charged a second person with attempted first-degree murder in the May 30 shooting of an Oak Park man in the 900 block of North Taylor Avenue, according to a news release from the Village of Oak Park.

Eric Lamar Anderson, 18, of Harvey, is the brother of Erica Anderson, 21, who was charged Tuesday with attempted first-degree murder, home invasion, armed robbery and aggravated battery.

The siblings face the same charges and are being held in Cook County Jail.

Eric Anderson is being held without bail because he was on probation for illegal weapon use at the time of his arrest, according to the release. Erica Anderson is being held in lieu of $750,000 bond.

Responding to a 911 call just after 6 p.m. in the 900 block of North Taylor Avenue, police found James Wilson, 50, of Oak Park with wounds to his shoulder and jaw. He was taken to Loyola Medical Center, where he was listed in critical, but stable condition Friday morning, police said.

Police say indications are that Wilson knew his assailants.

Preliminary court dates are set for Friday, June 7. If convicted on all counts, each could face up to 30 years in prison.
