Woman Robbed on North Blvd., DUI, Child Neglect: Police Blotter

Oak Park police reports, Aug. 3-5, include an aggravated DUI and child neglect arrest, a robbery on North Boulevard and more.

MONDAY, AUG. 5

Man Robs Woman, Leaves Purse in Yard

A man with short black hair and a thin build stole a woman's purse off her shoulder as he passed her in the 900 block of North Boulevard between about 2:30 and 3 p.m. Police said he ran north through a parking lot toward Lake Street, and that his jacket and the woman's purse were later found in a yard in the 100 block of North Kenilworth Avenue. Missing from the woman's purse was her iPhone. The total estimated loss is $700, police said.

Aggravated DUI, Child Neglect

Police charged Victorio Johnson, 35, of Chicago, with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license revoked, contributing to the neglect of a child and other traffic charges around 6:40 p.m. in the 0-100 block of North Austin Boulevard. He was held on bond. 

Phone, Glasses Stolen From Car

Someone used a pry tool to break the driver's side window of a car in the 1200 block of Austin Boulevard and stole a pair of prescription sunglasses, $8 and a cell phone. The total estimated loss is $1,008, police said. 

Car Ransacked on Humphrey Avenue

Someone broke the window of a VW in the 900 block of North Humphrey Avenue and ransacked the center console sometime between 1 and 7:35 a.m. Nothing was stolen, police said. 

Bikes Stolen From Garage

Someone stole two bikes from a garage in the 1100 block of South Euclid Avenue between 9:30 p.m. Aug. 4 and 5:30 a.m. Aug. 5. The total estimated loss is $3,328, police said. 

Bike Stolen

Someone stole a men's bike from a rack in the 100 block of South Oak Park Avenue between 5:15 and 11:30 p.m. The total estimated loss is $540, police said. 

SUNDAY, AUG. 4

Window Broken

Someone broke out the driver's side window of a Chevy Trailblazer parked in the 800 block of North Humphrey Avenue. The estimated cost of damage is $150, police said. 

SATURDAY, AUG. 3

Window Shattered

Someone threw a piece of concrete and broke a glass pane window in the 1000 block of Pleasant Street sometime between 9 p.m. Aug. 2 and 9 a.m. Aug. 3. The estimated cost of damage is $200, police said.
