Monday, October 28

Burglaries Reported on Taylor

800 block, North Taylor Avenue, 7 a.m. - 4:25 p.m.
Someone ransacked the living room, kitchen and master bedroom of a home in the 800 block of North Taylor Avenue and stole a coral necklace and a computer between 7 a.m. and 4:25 p.m. The total estimated loss is $6,500, police said.

800 block, North Taylor Avenue, 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Someone stole an iPad, a Garmin watch, an iPod and $20 in coins from a home in the 900 block of North Taylor Avenue between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. The total estimated loss is $1,670, police said. 

Sunday, October 27

DUI 

Police charged Dale Wheeler, 58, of Chicago, with driving under the influence of alcohol about midnight in the 6000 block of North Avenue. 

Saturday, October 26

Burglary on Linden

Someone stole a wallet and a purse from a home in the 500 block of Linden Avenue between 11:30 p.m. Oct. 25 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 26. The total estimated loss is $840, police said. Force was used to enter the home, police said.

Tires Punctured

300 block, South Lombard Avenue
Someone punctured two tires of a Toyota in the 300 block of South Lombard Avenue between 1:35 and 10 a.m. The total estimated loss is $200, police said. 

1000 block, Hayes Avenue
Someone punctured the front passenger tire of a Nissan in the 1000 block of Hayes Avenue between 4 and 7:45 p.m. The total estimated loss is $75, police said. 

6 Women Seen Stealing Cosmetics

Someone reported seeing six women steal cosmetics from Deals, 6405 North Ave., between 10 and 10:15 a.m. 

Bikes Stolen

800 block, North Grove Avenue
Someone stole two bikes from an open garage in the 800 block of North Grove Avenue between about midnight and 8:15 a.m. Oct. 26. The total estimated loss is $740, police said. 

800 block, Columbian Avenue
Someone stole a $1,000 bike from an unlocked car in the 800 block of Columbian Avenue between 9:30 p.m. Oct. 25 and 9:30 a.m. Oct. 26. 

Friday, October 25

$13K in Cash, Jewels, Electronics Stolen in Burglaries on Austin

Someone entered an apartment building in the 1500 block of North Austin Boulevard through a porch window and stole a black leather jacket, jewelry and $350 between 12:20 and 4 p.m. The total estimated loss is $5,285, police said. 

A second burglary was reported in the building during the same timeframe, in which the offender stole a TV, a bracelet, $1,000 in coins and $5,000 in cash. The total estimated loss is $7,900, police said. 

Concrete Used to Damage Cars on Kenilworth

Someone damaged two doors of a Toyota in the 100 block of North Kenilworth Avenue with a piece of concrete between 2:30 p.m. Oct. 24 and 4:30 a.m. Oct. 25. The total estimated loss is $2,000, police said. 

Someone shattered the front driver's side door window of a 2007 Mercedes Benz in the 100 block of North Kenilworth with a piece of concrete between 9:45 p.m. Oct. 24 and 4:20 a.m. Oct. 25. The total estimated loss is $400, police said. 

DUI

Police charged Jose Santillan, 30, of Chicago, with driving under the influence of alcohol about 11 p.m. in the 500 block of South Austin Boulevard. 

Meds, Cleaning Supplies and Coffee Stolen

Someone stole a FedEx package containing medication, cleaning supplies and coffee from the front steps of a building in the 5100 block of Chicago Avenue between 1:15 and 7 p.m. The total estimated loss is $83, police said. 

Window Broken

Someone broke the front passenger window of a Volvo in the 600 block of Lyman Avenue between 3 and 8:20 p.m. The total estimated loss is $200, police said. 

CTA Station Window Broken

Someone broke a CTA station window in the 400 block of Harrison Street between 3 p.m. Oct. 24 and 7 a.m. Oct. 25. The total estimated loss is $1,750, police said. 

Wednesday, October 23

Phone Stolen at OPRF

Someone stole an iPhone from the girls locker room at Oak Park and River Forest High School between 10:25 and 11 a.m. The total estimated loss is $300, police said.
